Dr. Ken Matsumoto was born and raised in Japan. His parents were educators, and he has always been driven to give his best effort in any endeavor. When he realized his desire was to be a health care professional, he found himself drawn to the area of dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Matsumoto worked as a general dentist for 4 years in Japan and then decided to pursue a specialty in Orthodontics in the United States. Dr. Matsumoto completed dental school a second time receiving a DMD from the University of Pennsylvania, then staying on to earn dual degrees in Periodontics and Orthodontics, as well as a Master of Science in Oral Biology. Following his graduate work, he elected to stay in academia and for the past three years he served as a clinical director in the departments of Orthodontics and Periodontics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Matsumoto and his wife, who is a speech pathologist, love nature and they cannot wait to explore the state of North Carolina. They are looking forward to hiking and trying various water sports while also enjoying his hobby of photography.
